Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29347

Muhammad bin Bashar and Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Muhammad bin Ja’far narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, on the authority of Samak bin Harb, he said: I heard Musaab bin Saad, narrating on the authority of his father, Saad said: Four verses were revealed about me. So he mentioned a story, and Saad’s mother said, “Didn’t he command By God, by righteousness, by God, I will neither eat food nor drink anything until I die or become ungrateful. He said, “So when they wanted to feed her, they would close her mouth.” Then this verse was revealed: (And We have enjoined on mankind goodness to his parents.) Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
