Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29375

Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna narrated to us, Ashhal bin Hatim narrated to us, Ibn Aoun said, we narrated to him on the authority of Amr bin Saeed, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said I was with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he came to the door of a woman with whom he had married, and suddenly there was a group of people with her. He went off, fulfilled his need, and was detained, then returned. And there were people with her, so he went off and relieved himself. He came back and they had left. He said, “So he went in and left a screen between me and him.” He said, “So I mentioned it to Abu Talha.” He said, So he said, “If it were as you say, then something would have been revealed about this.” So the verse about the hijab was revealed. This is a good and strange hadith from this perspective.
