حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ‏ "‏ أَنْتَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْكَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏
Sufyan bin Wakee’ told us, my father told us, about Israel, Muhammad bin Ismail told us, Ubayd Allah bin Musa told us, about Israel, On the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Al-Baraa ibn Azib, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to Ali ibn Abi Talib, “You are of me and I am of you.” And in the hadith there is a story. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
