Hadith #38021
وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَحَدِ أَكْثَرَ مَا يَصُومُ مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ وَيَقُولُ: «إِنَّهُمَا يَوْمَا عِيدٍ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أخَالِفَهُمْ». رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ
On the authority of Umm Salamah, she said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to fast on Saturday and Sunday the most of the days he fasted, and he said: “They are It is a holiday for the polytheists, and I like to differ from them.” Narrated by Ahmed
