On the authority of Qubaisa bin Mukhariq al-Hilali, who said: I carried a burden and came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to ask him about it. He said: “Stay until the charity comes to us and we will command it for you.” Then he said: “O Qubaisa, the issue is not permissible except for one of three men who carried a stretcher and it was permissible for him.” The issue is resolved until he afflicts it, then he catches a man who was struck by an epidemic that ravaged his wealth, so the issue was solved for him until he afflicted a means of living, or he said. A person suffering from poverty, until three of his people rise up. A bad thing happened to someone so-and-so, and it was permissible for him. Asking until one obtains one’s livelihood or, say, one’s full amount of subsistence, then there is no other issue than that, O Qabisah, an unlawful thing that its owner eats unlawfully.” .
