Hadith #39937
وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَه مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَضَعَ يَدَه تَحْتَ خَدِّه ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: «اَللّٰهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا». وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ أَحْيَانًا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُوْرُ. رَوَاهُ البُخَارِىُّ
On the authority of Hudhayfah, he said: When the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, went to bed at night, he would put his hand under his cheek and then say: “O God, in your name I will die.” And he lived.” And when he wakes up, he says: Praise be to God, who has brought us back to life after He has caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
