Hadith #40063
وقد أمر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الصحابة بصلاة الظهر. وقرأ الركعتين الأوليين (الركعة الثالثة إلا الجلوس في اللقاء الأول) قائما لا جالسا. ووقف معه آخرون أيضاً. وحتى إذا قضى الصلاة وانتظر الناس أن يرد السلام كبر صلى الله عليه وسلم جالسا فسجد سجدتين قبل أن يسلم ثم رد السلام. (البخاري، مسلم) [1]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made the Companions pray the Zuhr prayer. He recited the first two rak'ahs (for the third rak'ah except sitting in the first meeting) standing, not sitting. Others also stood with him. Even when he finished the Salat And the people waited for him to return the salam, he (may peace be upon him) gave the takbeer while sitting and made two prostrations before returning the salam, then returned the salam. (Bukhari, Muslim) [1]
