Hadith #40023
عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ «مَنْ ضَحّٰى مِنْكُمْ فَلَا يُصْبِحَنَّ بَعْدَ ثَالِثَةٍ وَفِىْ بَيْتِه مِنْهُ شَىْءٌ. فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ نَفْعَلُ كَمَا فَعَلْنَا الْعَامَ الْمَاضِىْ؟ قَالَ: كُلُوْا وَأَطْعِمُوْا وَادَّخِرُوْا فَإِنَّ ذٰلِكَ الْعَامَ كَانَ بِالنَّاسِ جَهْدٌ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ تُعِيْنُوْا فِيهِمْ. (مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ)
On the authority of Salama bin Al-Akwa’, he said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Whoever among you sacrifices, let him not go in the morning after the third day with any of it in his house.” When the next year came, they said: O Messenger of God, shall we do as we did last year? He said: Eat and be fed and save, for that year was He works hard for people, so I wanted you to help them. (agreed)
