Hadith #40196
وقد روى عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: الآن ليس فرح ولا عتيرة. يقول الراوي إن فرعا هو أول ولد من الإبل أو الماعز أو الغنم. وكانوا يذبحون هذا الطفل لآلهتهم وآلهاتهم. والعطرة ما عمل في شهر رجب. (البخاري، مسلم) [1]
He narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: Now there is no Farah and no more Atirah. The narrator says fara' is the first child of a camel or a goat or a sheep. They used to sacrifice this child to their gods and goddesses. And 'Atirah is what was done in the month of Rajab. (Bukhari, Muslim) [1]
