Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44694

Muhammad bin Jaafar told us, Shu’bah and Hajjaj told us, he said: I heard Shu’bah, on the authority of Asim bin Ubayd Allah, on the authority of Salem, on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with them both, said to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “Have you seen what we are working on? Has it been completed or is there something about it?” A beginning or an innovative matter. He said about what he had finished, and Omar said, “Shall we not rely?” He said, “Work, O Ibn Al-Khattab, for every person is facilitated. As for whoever is For the people of happiness, he works for happiness, and for the people of misery, he works for misery.
