Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45124

Ishaq bin Issa al-Tabbaa told us, Yahya bin Sulaym told me, on the authority of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khathim, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Ayadh bin Amr Al-Qari said: Abdullah bin Shaddad came and entered to see Aisha, may God be pleased with her, while we were sitting there. He had returned from Iraq. The nights Ali was killed, may God be pleased with him, she said to him: O Abdullah bin Shaddad, are you telling the truth about what I ask you about? Tell me about These are the people who were killed by Ali, may God be pleased with him. He said, “Why should I not believe you?” She said, “Tell me about their story.” He said, “Ali was satisfied.” By God, on his authority, when Muawiyah wrote and the two arbitrators ruled, eight thousand people who recited the people went out to him and camped in a land called Harawraa on the side of Kufa, and they rebuked him and said, “You have torn off the shirt that God Almighty has clothed you with, and the name with which God Almighty has given you.” Then You set out and judged in the religion of God, for there is no judgment except for God Almighty. So when Ali, may God be pleased with him, reported what they had rebuked for, and they separated from him over it, he ordered a muezzin. So he gave permission that no one should enter upon the Commander of the Faithful except a man who had carried the Qur’an. When the house was filled with The people’s reciters called for a great imam with the Qur’an, and he placed it in his hands and began to mint it with his hand and say, “O Qur’an, speak to the people.” The people called him and they said, “O Commander of the Faithful, what you are asking about is just ink on paper, and we are speaking from what we have narrated from it, so what do you want? He said These are your companions who went out. Between me and them is the Book of God. God Almighty says in His Book concerning a woman and a man: {And if you fear discord... between them, then send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they desire reconciliation, God will reconcile between them.} So the nation of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, May God bless him and grant him peace, he is greater in blood and sanctity than a woman or a man, and they took revenge on me because I wrote to Muawiyah, who wrote to Ali bin Abi Talib, and Suhail came to us Bin Amr, we were with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in Al-Hudaybiyyah when his people made peace with Quraysh, and the Messenger of God wrote God, may God bless him and grant him peace. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. So Suhail said, “Do not write.” In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. He said, “How should we write?” He said, “Write.” In your name, O God, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Muhammad, the Messenger of God, wrote,” and he said, “If only I knew.” You are the Messenger of God. I did not disagree with you, so this was recorded as what Muhammad bin Abdullah made peace with Quraysh. God Almighty says in His Book, “It was yours in The Messenger of God is a good example for those who hope in God and the Last Day, so Ali Abdullah bin Abbas, may God be pleased with him, was sent to them So I went out with him until, when their camp was in the middle, Ibn al-Kawwa’ stood up to address the people and said, “O bearers of the Qur’an, this is Abdullah bin Abbas, may God be pleased with him. So whoever does not know him, I recognize him from the Book of God. He does not know him by it. This is from the one about whom it was revealed and among his people there were people. Adversaries, return it to its owner, and do not give it the Book of God. Then their preachers stood up and said, By God, we will give it the Book of God. If it comes with the truth We know him, we will follow him, and if he comes with falsehood, We will certainly rebuke him with his falsehood. So they appointed Abdullah to write for three days, and he returned from them. Four thousand, all of them repentant, including Ibn al-Kawwa’, until he brought them into the custody of Ali in Kufa. Then Ali, may God be pleased with him, sent to the rest of them and said: It is our matter and the matter of the people that you have seen, so stand wherever you wish until the nation of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is gathered. It is between us and you that you do not shed unlawful blood, or cut off the path, or do injustice to a covenant. If you do, then We have abandoned to you the war over Either way, God does not like traitors. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, said to him, “O Ibn Shaddad, he killed them.” He said, “By God, what He sent to them until they cut off the path, shed blood, and made lawful the people of dhimma. She said, “Allah.” He said, “Allah, there is no god but Him. It was.” She said. I have not heard anything about the people of the people of the people of Dhimma talking about him. They say: “Dhu al-Tahdi” and “Dhu al-Thuddi” said: “I saw him and I rose with Ali.” May God be pleased with him regarding the deaths. So he called the people and said, “Do you know this?” Many of those who came said, “I saw him in the mosque of the people of so-and-so.” He is praying, and I saw him in the mosque of Bani So-and-so praying, and they did not bring in it any reliable evidence other than that. She said: What is the saying of Ali, may God be pleased with him? When he rose up against him, as the people of Iraq claim, he said, “I heard him say, ‘Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.’ She said, ‘Did you hear from him that he said otherwise?’ He said Oh God, no, she said: Yes, God and His Messenger have spoken the truth. May God have mercy on Ali, may God be pleased with him. He did not see anything that he liked from his words. Unless he says, “Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth,” and the people of Iraq will go and lie about him and add to him in the hadith.
