وعنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "ما تعدون الشهداء فيكم؟ قالوا: يا رسول الله من قتل في سبيل الله فهو شهيد. قال: "إن شهداء أمتي إذًا لقليل!" قالوا: فمن يا رسول الله ؟ قال: "من قتل في سبيل الله فهو شهيد، ومن مات في سبيل الله فهو شهيد، ومن مات في الطاعون فهو شهيد، ومن مات في البطن فهو شهيد، والغريق شهيد" ((رواه مسلم)).
On his authority, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “What do you consider to be the martyrs among you?” They said: “O Messenger of God, whoever is killed in the cause of God is a martyr.” He said: “The martyrs of my nation, then, are few!” They said: “Who, O Messenger of God?” He said: “Whoever is killed in the cause of God is a martyr, and whoever dies in the cause of God is a martyr, and whoever dies in the cause of God is a martyr. In the plague, he is a martyr, whoever dies in the stomach is a martyr, and whoever drowns is a martyr.” ((Narrated by Muslim)).
