Hadith #46433
On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that when the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, went to bed, he would blow on his hands, recite al-Mu’awwidha, and wipe his body with them. ((Agreed upon)). And in their narration: “When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, went to bed every night, he would put his palms together, then blow on them, and recite in them: Say, ‘He is God, One,’” And say: I seek refuge in the Lord of creation, and say: I seek refuge in the Lord of people. Then he wiped with them as much of his body as he could. He begins with them on his head and face, and the front part of his body. He does this three times.” (Agreed upon). The linguists said: “Blowing” is gentle blowing without saliva.
