حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: اخْرُجُوا بِنَا إِلَى أَرْضِ قَوْمِنَا. فَخَرَجْنَا، فَكُنْتُ أَنَا وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ النَّاسِ، فَهَاجَتْ سَحَابَةٌ، فَقَالَ أُبَيُّ: اللَّهُمَّ اصْرِفْ عَنَّا أَذَاهَا. فَلَحِقْنَاهُمْ، وَقَدِ ابْتَلَّتْ رِحَالُهُمْ، فَقَالُوا: مَا أَصَابَكُمُ الَّذِي أَصَابَنَا؟ قُلْتُ: إِنَّهُ دَعَا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يَصْرِفَ عَنَّا أَذَاهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: أَلاَ دَعَوْتُمْ لَنَا مَعَكُمْ.
Ibn Abi Shaybah told us, he said: Yahya bin Issa told us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Habib, on the authority of Sa’id bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: Omar, may God be pleased with him, said: Take us out to the land of our people. So we went out, and I and Ubayy bin Ka’b were in the back of the people, and it became rampant. A cloud, and my father said: Oh God, remove its harm from us. So we followed them, and their mounts were wet, so they said: What has happened to you that has befallen us? I said: He prayed to God Almighty to avert her harm from us, and Omar said: Didn’t you pray for us with you?
