حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: تَسَمَّوْا بِأَسْمَاءِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ، وَأَحَبُّ الأسْمَاءِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: عَبْدُ اللهِ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَأَصْدَقُهَا: حَارِثٌ، وَهَمَّامٌ، وَأَقْبَحُهَا: حَرْبٌ، وَمُرَّةُ.
Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, he said: Ahmad told us, he said: Hisham bin Saeed told us, he said: Muhammad bin Muhajir told us, he said: Aqeel bin Shabib told me, on the authority of Abu Wahb, who was a companion of his, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: Take the names of the prophets. The most beloved of the names to God Almighty are: Abdullah and Abdul-Rahman. The most truthful are: Harith and Hammam, and the ugliest are: Harb and Murrah.
