حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: أَخَذَتِ النَّاسَ الرِّيحُ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ، وَعُمَرُ حَاجٌّ، فَاشْتَدَّتْ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ: مَا الرِّيحُ؟ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعُوا بِشَيْءٍ، فَاسْتَحْثَثْتُ رَاحِلَتِي فَأَدْرَكْتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ سَأَلْتَ عَنِ الرِّيحِ، وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: الرِّيحُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ، تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ، وَتَأْتِي بِالْعَذَابِ، فَلاَ تَسُبُّوهَا، وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ خَيْرَهَا، وَعُوذُوا مِنْ شَرِّهَا.
Yahya bin Bukayr narrated to us, he said: Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Thabit bin Qais, that Abu Hurairah said: People caught the wind on the road to Mecca, and Omar was a pilgrim, and it became strong. Omar said to those around him: What is the wind? They did not return with anything, so I urged I was riding and caught up with him, so I said: I was informed that you asked about the wind, and that I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: The wind is from the Spirit of God, it comes With mercy, and it brings torment, so do not revile it, and ask God for its goodness, and seek refuge from its evil.
