Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47488

Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad bin Ja’far bin Abi Kathir narrated to me, on the authority of Yaqoub bin Zaid Al-Taymi, on the authority of Saeed Al-Maqbari, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that a man passed by the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, while he was in a gathering and said: Peace be upon you, and he said: Ten good deeds. Another man passed by and said: May God’s peace and mercy be upon you. He said: Twenty good deeds. Another man passed by and said: May God’s peace and mercy be upon you. God and His blessings, and he said: Thirty good deeds. Then a man from the gathering stood up and did not greet him, so the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: And he greeted: Your companion has almost forgotten. If one of you comes to a meeting, let him say the salutation. If it seems to him that he should sit, let him sit, and if he stands So let him submit. The first is more deserving than the hereafter.
