Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50397

On the authority of Jabir, he said: Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, entered to ask permission to come to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he found people sitting at his door, and no one had been given permission. One of them said: So he gave permission to Abu Bakr and he entered. Then Omar came and he asked for permission, so he gave him permission and found the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Sitting around him were his wives, silent, and he said: I said: I will say something that will make the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, laugh. He said: O Messenger of God, if I saw a girl Outside, she asked me for maintenance, so I went up to her and bit her neck, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, laughed and said: “They are around me, as you can see, asking me for money.” So Abu Bakr stood up to Aisha and touched her neck, and Omar stood up to Hafsa and touched her neck. They both said: You are asking the Messenger of God, may God bless him. And he delivered what he did not have? They said: By God, we will not ask the Messenger of God, may God bless him. And he always handed over something that he did not have, then he withdrew from them for a month or twenty-nine. Then this verse was revealed: (O Prophet, tell your wives) until he reached (for the good-doers among you a reward.) Great) He said: He started with Aisha and said: “O Aisha, I want to present to you a matter that I would like you not to rush into until “You should consult your parents.” She said: What is it, O Messenger of God? So he recited the verse to her. She said: Should I consult my parents, O Messenger of God? Rather, I choose God and His Messenger and the Hereafter, and I ask you not to tell any of your wives what I said: He said: “Do not ask me a woman.” From them Unless I told her that God did not send me to be stubborn or obstinate, but rather He sent me as a teacher and facilitator.” Narrated by Muslim
