Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #52224

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: On the day of the Battle of Tabuk, a famine struck the people, so Omar said: O Messenger of God, pray to them for the abundance of their provisions, then pray to God for them. He bestowed His blessing upon him, and he said: Yes. He said, so he called for a blessing, then he spread out, then he called for the bounty of their provisions, so the man brought a handful of corn. The other would bring a palm of dates, and the other would bring a crumb, until a little thing came together on the date, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, called. With the blessing. Then he said, “Take in your containers.” So they took in their containers until they did not leave a single container in the soldiers but they filled it. He said, “So they ate until they were satisfied.” Then something remained, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “I bear witness that there is no god but God and that I am the Messenger of God. He will not meet God with them.” A servant who does not doubt, and will be blocked from Paradise.” Narrated by Muslim
