Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54500

Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Israel told us, Abu Al-Juwayriyah Al-Jarmi told us, that Ma’an bin Yazid told him, he said: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God God, may God bless him and grant him peace, me, my father, and my grandfather, and he proposed to me and made me marry, and I argued with him, and my father Yazid had gone out. He was giving dinars in charity, so he left them with a man in the mosque. I came and took them and brought them to him. He said: By God, I did not want them. So I disputed with him to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said: “You get what you intended, O Yazid, and you get what you took, O Ma’n.”
