Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54944

Muhammad bin Kathir informed us, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Amr Al-Sibani, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Dailami, on the authority of his father That his father, or that a man among them, asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said: O Messenger of God, we have departed from where you knew. And we descended between my backs whom you knew, so who is our guardian? He said: “Allah and His Messenger.” They said: O Messenger of God, we were the owners of a vineyard and wine, and God has forbidden wine, so what should we do with the vineyard? He said: “Make it raisins.” They said: What should we do with raisins? He said: “Soak it in.” The two things, soak it with your lunch, and drink it with your dinner, and soak it with your dinner, and drink it with your lunch, for if it comes to him The two ages, it was sweetness before it was wine.”
