أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ بَجَالَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " لَمْ يَكُنْ عُمَرُ أَخَذَ الْجِزْيَةَ مِنَ الْمَجُوسِ حَتَّى شَهِدَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَأَخَذَهَا مِنْ مَجُوسِ هَجَرَ "
Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Ibn Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Amr, on the authority of Bajalah, he said: I heard him say: “Umar did not take the tribute. From the Magi until Abd al-Rahman bin Awf testified that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, took it from the Magi of Hajar.”
