Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55548

Musaddad narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Ya’la, on the authority of Al-Rabi’ ibn Khathim, on the authority of Abdullah, he said: He wrote The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, drew a square line for us, then he drew a line in the middle of it, then he drew lines around it, and he wrote a line outside of the line. He said: “This man has the middle line, and this is the border surrounding him, and these are the edges of the lines, so if anyone misses him, he will stab him.” The other, and this hope is for the outside line.”
