Hadith #55605
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ هُوَ : ابْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْقَاضِي ، عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَالْإِثْمِ، فَقَالَ :" الْبِرُّ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ، وَالْإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ وَكَرِهْتَ أَنْ يَعْلَمَهُ النَّاسُ ".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنْ مَعْنِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

فَذَكَرَ بِنَحْوِهِ
Abu Al-Mughirah told us, Safwan told us, he is Ibn Amr, he said: Yahya bin Jabir Al-Qadi told me, on the authority of Al-Nawwas bin Sam’an, He said: I asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about righteousness and sin, and he said: “Righteousness is good character, and sin is what wavers in your soul and you dislike.” That people should teach him.” Ishaq bin Issa informed us, on the authority of Ma’an bin Issa, on the authority of Muawiyah bin Salih, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Nawwas bin Samaan, he said: I asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace... and he mentioned something similar
