حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ :" الْمُرَّانِ : الْإِمْسَاكُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ، وَالتَّبْذِيرُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ ".
قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : يُقَالُ : مُرٌّ فِي الْحَيَاةِ، وَمُرٌّ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ
Ahmad bin Abdullah told us, Abu Zubayd told us, Husayn told us, on the authority of Ibrahim al-Taymi, on the authority of his father, he said: Abdullah said: Al-Maran: abstaining during life, and extravagance at death.”
Abu Muhammad said: It is said: bitter in life, and bitter in death.
