Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26935

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Abdullah bin Idris told us, on the authority of Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, on the authority of Miqsam, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him He performed cupping between Mecca and Medina while he was in ihram and fasting. Abu Issa said, and on the authority of Abu Saeed, Jabir and Anas, he said. Abu Issa, the hadith of Ibn Abbas, is a hasan and authentic hadith. Some of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others have held this view. Hadith: They did not see any harm in cupping for the fasting person. This is the saying of Sufyan Al-Thawri, Malik bin Anas, and Al-Shafi’i.
