Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29239

Muhammad bin Bashar told us, Omar bin Yunus Al-Yamimi told us, Ikrimah bin Ammar told us, Abu Zumail told us, Abdullah bin Abbas, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab told us, he said: The Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, looked at the polytheists, who were a thousand people and their companions. O God, if you destroy this group of people of Islam, they will not be worshiped on earth.” He continued to call upon his Lord, extending his hands facing the Qiblah, until his robe fell from his shoulders, so Abu Bakr came to him and took his robe. So he threw him on his shoulders, then pressed him behind him and said, O Prophet of God, enough of you calling upon your Lord, for He will fulfill for you what He promised you. So he sent down God: (When you sought help from your Lord, and He responded to you. Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand of the angels in succession.) So God provided them with By the angels. He said, “This is a good, authentic, and strange hadith. We do not know it from the hadith of Omar except from the hadith of Ikrimah bin Ammar on the authority of Abu Zumail.
