Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Abu Bakr bin Abdul Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hisham, he said: You told me Aisha and Umm Salamah, wives of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to approach dawn while he was with his family, then he would wash himself. So he fasts. Abu Issa said the hadith of Aisha and Umm Salamah is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge. The Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others. This is the view of Sufyan, Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Some of the Followers said, “When morning He spends that day in Junab. The first saying is more correct.
