Hadith #26966
Abdul bin Humayd told us, Abdul Razzaq told us, Muammar told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said, “The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, desires them to perform Ramadan without commanding them to do so, and He says, “Whoever performs Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward... He will be forgiven for all his previous sins.” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, died, and the matter was like that. Then the matter was like that during the caliphate of Abu Bakr. And it came from the caliphate of Omar bin Al-Khattab on that matter. And on the authority of Aisha. Abu Issa said: This is an authentic hadith. It was narrated. This hadith is also on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, on the authority of the Prophet. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
