Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, Yahya bin Adam told us, Sufyan Al-Thawri told us, on the authority of Ja’far bin Muhammad, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Jabir, he said When the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to Mecca, he entered the mosque, received the stone, then proceeded to his right, braked three times, walked four times, then He came to the shrine and said: (And take the place of Abraham as a place of prayer.) So he prayed two rak’ahs while the shrine was between him and the House. Then he came to Al-Hijr after He prayed the two rak'ahs, then he prayed it, then went out to As-Safa. I think he said: (Indeed, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the symbols of God.) He said: On the authority of Ibn Umar, Abu Issa said: The hadith of Jabir is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.
