Hadith #27057
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Yahya bin Zakaria bin Abi Zaida told us, Al-Hajjaj told us, on the authority of Al-Hikam, on the authority of Muqasim, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, stoned the Jamarat on the Day of Sacrifice, riding. He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Jabir, Qudamah bin Abdullah, and Umm Suleiman bin Amr bin Al-Ahwas. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Ibn Abbas is a good hadith. This is acted upon according to some people of knowledge. Some of them chose to walk to the pebbles. It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Omar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he used to walk to the pebbles. This hadith, according to us, is that he recited it on some days in order to emulate him in his actions, and both hadiths are used by the people of knowledge.
