Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27058

Yusuf bin Issa told us, Ibn Numayr told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that when the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, would walk He went to it and returned. Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. Some of them narrated it on the authority of Ubayd Allah but did not narrate it. This is acted upon by most of the people of knowledge, and some of them said that one rides on the Day of Sacrifice and walks on the days that follow the Day of Sacrifice. Abu Issa said, “It is as if whoever said this only wanted to follow the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in his action, because it was only narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He said that he rode on the Day of Sacrifice wherever he went, stoning the Jamarat, and he only stoned Jamarat al-Aqaba on the Day of Sacrifice.
