Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27195

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Hushaym told us, Al-Shaybani told us, Al-Sha’bi told us, he told me who saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and saw a grave. Some people of knowledge said that one should not pray over the grave. This is the saying of Malik bin Anas. Abdullah said Ibn Al-Mubarak, if the dead person is buried and no prayer is prayed over him, pray over the grave. Ibn Al-Mubarak saw the prayer being performed over the grave.
