Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27255

Muhammad bin Musa Al-Basri narrated to us, Ziyad bin Abdullah narrated to us, Ata bin Al-Sa’ib narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Ibn Masoud said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The food of the first day is a right, the food of the second day is sunnah, and the food of the third day is a good deed.” He heard, God heard about him.” Abu Issa said, “We do not know of the hadith of Ibn Masoud as a chain of transmission except from the hadith of Ziyad bin Abdullah. And Ziyad bin Abdullah has many strange and deceitful deeds. He said: I heard Muhammad bin Ismail mentioning on the authority of Muhammad bin Uqba. He said: Waki’ said: Ziyad bin Abdullah, despite his honor, does not lie in hadith.
