حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلاَّلُ، وَغَيْرُ، وَاحِدٍ، قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، قَالَ رَدَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ التَّبَتُّلَ وَلَوْ أَذِنَ لَهُ لاَخْتَصَيْنَا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khallal, and more than one person, told us, they said: Abdul Razzaq told us, Muammar told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sa’id bin Al-Musayyab, On the authority of Saad bin Abi Waqqas, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, responded to Uthman bin Mazun’s celibacy even if he had given him permission. We would have chosen each other. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
