Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27375

Saeed bin Yaqoub Al-Talqani told us, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Wasiti told us, on the authority of Hussein bin Qais, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to those with measures and scales: “Indeed, you have been given charge of two matters in which nations have perished. The predecessors before you.” Abu Issa said, “This is a hadith that we do not know of as being traced back to the Prophet except from the hadith of Husayn ibn Qays. And Husayn ibn Qais is weakened in Hadith: This was narrated with an authentic chain of transmission on the authority of Ibn Abbas.
