Hadith #27383
Qutaibah narrated to us, Malik bin Anas narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Yazid, that Zayd Aba Ayyash asked Sa’d about Al-Bayda, with baskets. He said, “Which of them is better?” He said, “Al-Bayda.” He forbade that. And Sa’d said, “I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, being asked about buying dates.” With fresh dates, he said to those around him, “Does the fresh dates decrease when they dry up?” They said, “Yes.” So he forbade that.
