حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَضْرِبُ مَمْلُوكًا لِي فَسَمِعْتُ قَائِلاً مِنْ خَلْفِي يَقُولُ " اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ " . فَالْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " لَلَّهُ أَقْدَرُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ فَمَا ضَرَبْتُ مَمْلُوكًا لِي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ التَّيْمِيُّ هُوَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ .
Mahmoud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Mu’mal narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Ibrahim Al-Taymi, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Masoud. Al-Ansari, he said, I was attacking a slave of mine, and I heard someone behind me saying, “I know Abu Masoud, I know Abu Masoud.” So I turned and saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said, “God has more power over you than you have over him.” Abu Masoud said, “I have never struck a slave of mine.” After that, Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Ibrahim al-Taymi is Ibrahim bin Yazid bin Sharik.
