Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27180

Ahmad ibn Mani` narrated to us, Ismail ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Muammar narrated to us, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sa`id ibn al-Musayyab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, prayed for the Negus, and he said “Allahu Akbar” four times. He said, and on the authority of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Abi Awfa and Jabir. And Yazid bin Thabit and Anas. Abu Issa said, Yazid bin Thabit is the brother of Zayd bin Thabit, and he is older than him. He witnessed Badr. And Zaid did not witness Badr. Abu Issa said the hadith of Abu Hurairah is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge. From the Prophet's companions May God’s prayers and peace be upon him and others view the takbeer for a funeral as four times. This is the saying of Sufyan al-Thawri, Malik ibn Anas, and Ibn al-Mubarak. Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq.
