Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27585

Qutaibah told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Samak ibn Harb, on the authority of Sa`id ibn Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to Ma’iz Ibn Malik, “The most correct thing that informed me about you.” He said, “And what informed you about me?” He said, “I was informed that you had intercourse with the slave girl of the family of so-and-so.” He said: Yes. He gave four testimonies, so he was ordered to be stoned. He said: And in this chapter, on the authority of Al-Sa’ib bin Yazid. Abu Issa said the hadith of Ibn Abbas is a hasan hadith. Shu’bah narrated this hadith on the authority of Samak ibn Harb on the authority of Sa’id ibn Jubayr with a mursal message, but he did not mention in it on the authority of Ibn Abbas.
