حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ، اسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ تُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that Saad bin Worship. The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, asked a fatwa regarding a vow he had made to his mother. She died before she could fulfill it. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “Fulfill it.” On her authority. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
