Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Muadh bin Hisham narrated to us, my father narrated to us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Al-Sha’bi, on the authority of Suwayd bin Ghafla, on the authority of Omar, that He addressed the collector and said that the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade silk except where two, three, or four fingers fit.
