Abdul-Ala bin Wasil narrated to us, he said Muhammad bin Al-Qasim Al-Asadi narrated to us, he said Al-Fadl bin Dulham narrated to us, he said Awf narrated to us, on the authority of Shahr bin Hawshab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Learn the Qur’an and the religious duties and teach the people, for I “Accepted.” Abu Issa said, “This is a hadith that contains confusion.” Abu Usama narrated this hadith on the authority of Awf, on the authority of a man, on the authority of Sulayman ibn Jabir, on the authority of Ibn Masoud, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Al-Hussein bin Harith told us about that. Abu Usama told us, on the authority of Awf, with this in its meaning. Muhammad ibn al-Qasim al-Asadi was considered weak by Ahmad ibn Hanbal and others.
