Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28254

Abdul bin Humaid told us, he said: Abdul Rahman bin Saad told us, Amr bin Abi Qais told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, he said, The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to visit me while I was sick in Bani Salamah, so I said, O Prophet of God, how should I divide my wealth? between my children, but he did not respond to me at all, so the verse was revealed: (God enjoins upon you concerning your children, for the male the portion of two females) the verse. Abu Issa said. This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated by Shu’bah, Ibn Uyaynah and others, on the authority of Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir, on the authority of Jabir.
