Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28296

Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Quti’ al-Basri narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Aziz ibn Rabi’ah al-Bunani narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Every child is born following the religion, and his parents convert him to Judaism or They support him or associate him with Christianity.” It was said, “O Messenger of God, whoever perished before that said, “God knows best what they were doing.” Abu Kurayb and Al-Hussein bin Harith narrated to us, they said, Waki’ narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He gave a similar statement in its meaning and said, “He is born according to the natural disposition.” Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated by Shu’bah and others. On the authority of Al-A'mash, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, with its meaning.
