Ishaq bin Musa Al-Ansari told us, Ma’an told us, Malik told us, on the authority of Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talha, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, that he heard him say: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to go to Umm Haram bint Milhan and she would feed him, and Umm Haram was under the worship of bin Al-Samit, so the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, entered upon her one day, and she fed him and sat combing his head. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, fell asleep and then he woke up. He laughed. She said, “So I said, ‘What makes you laugh, O Messenger of God?’” He said, “People from my nation were presented to me as warriors in the cause of God, riding.” This sea was filled with kings on a family, or like kings on a family.” I said, “O Messenger of God, pray to God to make me one of them.” So he prayed for her, then he laid down his head and fell asleep, then he woke up laughing. She said, “So I said to him, ‘What makes you laugh, O Messenger of God?’ He said, ‘People from my nation. They were presented to me as invaders in the cause of God.” Like what he said at the beginning, she said, “So I said, O Messenger of God, pray to God to make me one of them.” He said “You are among the first.” He said, “Umm Haram rode the sea in the time of Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, and she was thrown off her mount when she got out.” From the sea and she perished. Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. Umm Haram bint Milhan is the sister of Umm Sulaym and she is Anas’ maternal aunt. Ibn Malik...

Ubaid bin Asbat bin Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Kufi told us, my father told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Saad, on the authority of Sa`id bin Abi Hilal, on the authority of Ibn Abi Dhubab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: A man from the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by a river in which was a spring of fresh water, and it pleased him. Because of her kindness, he said, “If I were to isolate myself from the people and stay in this people, I will not do so until I seek permission from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” So he mentioned that to the Messenger of God. God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Do not do that, for the position of one of you in the path of God is better than his praying in his house for seventy years.” “You would love for God to forgive you and admit you to Paradise. Fight in the cause of God. Whoever fights in the cause of God, hiccuping a she-camel, Paradise is certain for him.” Abu Issa said this is a good hadith.

Strange is the hadith of Al-Walid bin Muslim on the authority of Ismail bin Rafi’. Ismail bin Rafi’ was considered weak by some of the hadith’s companions. He said: And I heard Muhammad say, “It is trustworthy and close to the hadith.” This hadith was narrated through a different chain of transmission, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
