Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28384

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Surayj bin Al-Nu’man told us, Hashraj bin Nabatah told us, on the authority of Sa’id bin Juman, he said Safina told me, He said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘The caliphate in my nation is thirty years, then there is a kingdom after that.’ Then he said to me, ‘Amsk ship. The caliphate of Abu Bakr, the caliphate of Omar, and the caliphate of Uthman. Then he said to me, “Hold the caliphate of Ali.” He said, “We found it to be thirty years.” He said. Saeed, so I told him that the Umayyads claim that the caliphate is among them. He said: The Banu al-Zarqa lied, rather they are kings of the worst kings. Abu Issa, and in the chapter on the authority of Omar and Ali, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not covenant with anything regarding the caliphate. This is a hasan hadith that was narrated by more than one person on the authority of Sa’id. Ibn Jumhan, and we do not know him except from the hadith of Sa’id Ibn Jumhan.
