Hadith #29160
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Hushaym told us, Humaid told us, on the authority of Anas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, had his quadrilateral broken on the day of Uhud and was injured. His face was sore on his forehead that blood ran down his face and he said, “How can a people succeed who did this to their Prophet while he is calling them to “God.” So it was revealed: “You have nothing to do with the matter, or turn to them, or punish them,” and so on to the end. Abu Issa said this. A good and authentic hadith
