Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27088

Yusuf bin Issa told us, Waki’ told us, on the authority of Shu’bah, on the authority of Al-Nu’man bin Salem, on the authority of Amr bin Aws, on the authority of Abu Razin Al-Uqaili, He came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and said, “O Messenger of God, my father is an old man and is not able to perform Hajj, Umrah, or perform a daily prayer.” He said: “ “Perform Hajj on behalf of your father and perform Umrah.” Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. The Umrah was only mentioned on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in this hadith. For a man to perform Umrah on behalf of someone else. Abu Razin Al-Uqaili’s name is Laqit bin Amir.
