Abd bin Humayd narrated to us, Muhammad bin Bishr, and Ya’la bin Ubaid narrated to us, on the authority of Hajjaj bin Dinar, on the authority of Abu Ghalib, on the authority of Abu Umamah, He said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “No people go astray after the guidance they have followed unless they are given argument.” Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, recited He narrated this verse: (They did not strike at you except to dispute; rather, they are a quarrelsome people.) Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. We know him from the hadith of Hajjaj bin Dinar. Hajjaj is trustworthy and close to the hadith, and Abu Ghalib’s name is Hazur.
